1.Do the things you don't like（试着去做自己不喜欢做的事）
A farmer and his son, traveling by horse and buggy up a narrow lane, met a motorist going the other way. There was no room to pass for two miles in either direction. The motorist, in hurry, honked his horn.
“If you don't back up,” said the farmer, rolling up his sleeves, “I won't like what I'm going to have to do.” The surprised driver put his car in reverse and backed up two miles, allowing the horse and buggy to go by.
“What was it you wouldn't have liked to have done back there?” asked the farmer's son.
“Back up two miles,” replied the farmer.
中文对照：一位农民和他的儿子坐着马车来到一条狭窄的小巷， 他们看到一个司机正往他们这个方向开来。两个方向2英里以内已经没有空间让他们擦身而过了。司机焦急地按着喇叭。
“假如你不往后退，”农民撸着袖子说，“我并不喜欢我将要必须去做的事。”司机甚是惊讶，挂了倒挡，退后了2英里，让马车先过去了。
“刚才你说你并不喜欢做的事是什么啊?”农民的儿子问。
“退后2英里。”农民回答。
2.Three Good Friends（三个好朋友）
One day, a monkey rides his bike near the river. This time he sees a lion under a tree. The lion runs at him. He is afraid and falls into the river. He can’t swim. He shouts. The rabbit hears him. He jumps into the river. The rabbit swims to the monkey, but he can’t help him. Luckily, an elephant comes along. He is very strong. He helps the rabbit and monkey. Three friends are very happy. They go to the elephant’s home. Then, three of them become good friends.
中文对照：三个好朋友一天，一只猴子在河边骑车。这时他看见树下有一只狮子，狮子向他跑来。他非常的害怕，掉进河里。他不会游泳，大叫起来。兔子听见了，跳进水里，但他却没有办法救猴子。幸运的是，一只大象过来了。大象非常强壮，救出了兔子和猴子。他们来到大象的家，在那里吃了一顿大餐。从此他们成了好朋友。
3.A Wolf in sheep's clothing（披着羊皮的狼）
A wolf wanted to eat the sheep, but he was afraid of the vigilant shepherd and his dogs. One day the wolf found the skin of a sheep. He put it on and walked among the sheep. A lamb thought that the wolf was its mother because his skin looked like hers. So it followed the wolf. Soon after they had left the dogs, the wolf came at the lamb and ate it up. For some time he succeeded in deceiving the sheep, and enjoying hearty meals.
中文对照：狼想吃羊，但是他害怕警惕的牧羊人和牧羊犬。 有一天狼发现了一块羊皮，便披着它混入羊群。 一只小羊羔把这只披着羊皮的狼误认为自己的妈妈，被领出了羊群。 狼成功地欺骗了羊群，吃掉了小羊羔。
寓意：事物的外表有时候会掩盖它的本质，所以我们不能只凭表面现象就作判断。
