waste主要用作名词、形容词、及物动词、不及物动词，用作及物动词时，接名词或代词作宾语。当表示人在某人〔物、事〕上浪费时间〔金钱、精力、话语〕等时，其宾语后常接介词on+ n.或接(in〔on〕+) v -ing。此外，waste后可接of短语作其定语。
