quiet既可用作及物动词，也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时，接名词、代词作宾语，可用于被动结构。用作不及物动词时，常与副词down连用。在句中可用作定语、表语或状语。

如：Could you keep the kids quiet while I'm on the phone?

如：Business is usually quieter at this time of year.

7.(颜色、服饰)素净的，朴素大方的
如：They dress in quiet colors so as not to call attention to themselves.
