match可用作及物动词，也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时接名词或代词作宾语，也可接双宾语，其间接宾语可转化为介词for的宾语。用作不及物动词时，常与介词with连用，也常和副词well、nicely、beautifully等连用。

如：Investment in hospitals is needed now to match the future needs of the country.
